6 Easy Ways to Achieve Your Health Goals Without Overspending

Whether you're prepping budget-friendly...

Unless Elon & Bezos recently subscribed, we all have a budget that we like to, at the very least, try to stick to. Whether you’ve just drained your life savings converting your van into a pooch for your dog grooming business or you’re swimming in it like Scrooge McDuck, everyone loves to get a great deal. In this light, let’s take a peek at 6 ways to get fit while keepin’ the overhead low.

1. Budget-Friendly Nutrition

Meal Prep to Save: Take an hour or so every weekend to load up the fridge & freezer with the some good eats. You can find healthy, high protein, easy to make meals from Insta accounts like stealth_health_life and scaseyfitness. Highly recommend investing in a slow cooker which typically goes for <$60.

Affordable Superfoods: There are inexpensive nutrient-dense foods in the grocery aisles. Load up on oats, beans, canned tuna, eggs, Greek yogurt, bananas and frozen veggies.

DIY Snacks: instead of forking over $20 for a box of Clif Bars, check out this energy ball recipe on my Insta.

2. Supplements on a Budget: Stick to the Big 3…

Multivitamin: I like Nature’s Made Multi for Him a USP Verified vitamin ($0.07/serving).

Creatine Monohydrate: I use Bodytech Creatine Monohydrate ($0.44/serving).

Whey Protein: On Nutrition offers Gold Standard 100% Whey which is a great middle of the road protein in terms of quality, taste and price ($1.13/serving).

3. Home Workouts

Bodyweight Exercises: push-ups, squats, lunges, planks, dips, crunches.

Minimal Equipment Options: Affordable tools like…

  • Resistance bands(~$25 for full set)

  • Jump rope (~$10)

  • Dumbbells ($20-$50 each)

  • Kettlebells ($20-$60 each)

  • Doorway pull up bar (~$60).

YouTube: Free workout routines from experts like Mike Israetel, Jeff Nippard and Joe Delaney.

4. Fitness in Your Community

Free Resources: Take advantage of outdoor fitness stations, tracks, basketball courts and running paths. If your brother-in-law works at a meat processing plant, sneak in to pound on the beef…not that beef.

Local Teams & Clubs: Join the local run club or adult soccer league…just keep your physio on retainer for the latter.

5. Budget-Friendly Mindfulness Practices

Breathwork & Meditation: Free techniques like mindfulness and breathing exercises to reduce stress. You can find great guided techniques on YouTube.

Affordable Self-Care: Try simple activities like journaling or taking a walk in nature that don’t cost money but promote wellness.

6. Set Achievable Goals and Stay Consistent

Start small and track progress: Begin with manageable goals like 2 workouts per week or prepping meals, and use a notebook or app to monitor your progress. My Macros+ & My Workout+ are great nutrition and workout tracking apps that will only set you back ~$3 each.

Schedule and find a buddy: Treat workouts like appointments and consider exercising with a friend for extra motivation.

Build sustainable habits: Focus on developing small, consistent actions that naturally fit into your routine.

See? Staying healthy and fit doesn't have to drain your wallet! Whether you're prepping budget-friendly meals, leveraging YouTube & Insta, or building your own bodyweight den workout, anyone can achieve their fitness goals without breaking the bank. Just remember…a little planning and consistency go a long way.
